Aapo Nikkanen is an artist, researcher, and hypnotherapist. His current work focuses on hypnotic performances and photography. In 2024, he earned a hypnotherapist’s degree, and he runs a hypnotherapy cabinet in Paris. Alongside his artistic practice, Nikkanen researches and periodically writes about new technologies. In September 2025, Nikkanen premiered his new piece – Joy Machines – in the New Performance Turku Biennale. Following his participation to the Biennale in Turku, Nikkanen is staying a week in Villa Eläintarha to facilitate an additional performance of Joy Machines taking place in Helsinki.
