Elsa M. Treviño was in residency in January and February 2026. She is a Mexican writer and artist returning to Helsinki to complete revisions on her debut novel Animales extraviados (Stray Animals). Her time at Villa Eläintarha offered an environment to focus, refine the manuscript, and bring the project to completion.
In Elsa’s words: “I’m drawn back by the clarity and introspection of the northern winter, away from the intensity of Mexico City, and I look forward to deepening and expanding the meaningful exchanges I began with Helsinki-based artists last spring.”
