Naoko Higashi of Tokyo Art Book Fair was in residency at Villa Eläintarha in June 2026, invited to Under the Leaf Book Fair, showcasing Japanese artists’ books focusing on drawing and illustration. On the second day of the fair, Tokyo Art Book Fair founding member and project manager Naoko Higashi, together with Akira Kuroki, director of TOKIO ART BOOK FAIR, which launched last year, gave a talk introducing the activities of the fairs and the exhibition. Whilst in Helsinki, they also visited local artists’ studios, galleries and bookstores to explore the local art book community.
