During December, Italian dance artist Simone Lorenzo Benini stayed at the Villa whilst working on the Ghosts of Rosegarden project.
Ghosts of Rosegarden is a unique hybrid of maternal, classical, and neo-primitivist forms, created by a female-specific big stage presence with expressive dance, a text orchestration recital, string, bassoon, and timpani composition played by a live orchestra, and a live camera transforming the big stage into a theater of physical cinema.
Simone works as a dance artist between Italy, Austria, and Finland. In his artistic exploration, he incorporates elements of improvisation, theatre, and somatic techniques, experimenting with different expressive languages. He uses these tools to delve into the complexity of personal experiences, bringing private elements into the public sphere.
