Yellow Wasabi is an evolutionary biologist and new media artist based in Paris. Her interdisciplinary practice brings together ecology, electroacoustic music, motion capture and interactive technologies to explore new relationships between living systems, sound and human perception.
During her residency at Villa Eläintarha in July 2026, she is developing an interactive electroacoustic performance for the opening of Living Interface. Created in response to Oceania by Christelle Mas and Olli Uikkanen, the performance draws inspiration from the biodiversity of the Baltic Sea. Combining motion capture, organic electronic sound and live improvisation, it explores how artistic intuition and scientific observation can converge in a shared sensory experience, opening new ways of engaging with marine ecosystems.
